2 arrested for heroin, crack possession
Two people were taken into custody Saturday when law enforcement found them in possession of narcotics at a Crossville motel.
The two, identi. ed in a Cumberland County Sher- iff's Of. ce press release as Shanna Lynch and Joseph Lynch, both 37, addresses not given, had sealed bags with contents that tested positive for crack cocaine and heroin.
The pair were discovered sleeping in a car parked between a semi-trailer and a U-Haul truck in the parking lot of Red Roof Inn at 105 Executive Dr.
“Upon approaching the vehicle, the deputy noticed suspicious behavior and initiated contact with the in- dividuals," the press release said.
Authorities arrested Shanna Lynch upon discovering she was wanted on a failure-to-appear warrant in Maury County. A state pro- bation card was found in her possession, the release said.
Law enforcement also discovered Joseph Lynch had a suspended driver’s license.
“Upon requesting consent to search the vehicle, Joseph Lynch denied consent, exhibiting behaviors of pos- sible criminal activity," the press release said.

Joseph Lynch attempted to . ee after realizing the K-9.s alert but was detained by sheriff’s deputies.
“Both suspects were transported to Cumberland County
Jail without incident,” the release said. “The narcotics seized from the vehicle will be sent to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation for further analysis.”
